July 11-15th, 2013
Join Vickie Lewis, photographer represented by the National Geographic Society, on this amazing photo tour along the Northern Oregon Coast.
A native Oregonian, Vickie will take you to some of the most spectacular locations on the northern Oregon Coast. The schedule will include three days of shooting designed to take advantage of beautiful sunrises and sunsets will time off in the afternoon to process pictures, share insights, grab a nap or explore as you wish. We will keep our eyes and ears open for eagles, whales, sea lions and a herd of elk known to the locals. We will explore some of the Lewis and Clark trail at Ecola Park and the beauty of the rain forest as well as simply beautiful views of the oceans and rock formations. We’ll have the opportunity to be on beaches with sand dollars, clams and agates. And in between shoots, Vickie will introduce you to the best places to eat clam chowder, Dungeoness crab, oysters and fresh salmon.
Thursday evening, we will get together for an orientation and shooting begins before sunrise Friday morning and ends with an opportunity to share photographs and experiences on Monday morning.
Participants make their own reservations for accommodations. A host hotel provides the meeting room for instructional sessions and usually offers a discounted rate on rooms if you mention you are with the photography workshop. After you register, we will send you the information for hotels if it’s not provided here. We encourage you to make your reservations for accommodations early. We may be able to assist in setting up shared room situations if you tell us of your interest.
Participants are responsible for their own transportation to the workshop locations and to the various shoots. We will carpool as much as possible to various locations. Our base location is about a two hour drive from the Portland Airport.
